Can you help me figure out what animal(s) i hear last night? I also live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.?

Ok, i woke up to a really high-pitched squeal outside my window and the grass rustling. Then i heard a snarling sound and a low kinda laugh noise(yeah it sounds creepy). So then my neighbor went over to the source of the noise, which was in his yard, and it ended. Thanks ahead of time.
